What were the houses like in the Philippines during the Japanese occupation?
I need to know how the houses were like back then and WHY. Or what kind of houses would best suit the lifestyle during that time. THANKS!
I’ve tried researching and all that but i couldn’t find any website that could help me and i’ve also checked my school book.

Most of the houses during the Japanese occupation were the same style and type as during the late Spanish period -wooden houses with thatched roof for the majority of the people and "bahay na bato" or houses with stone (usually adobe) ground floor and wooden second floor with thatched or clay brick roof for the rich.
Here is a website with old photos of Manila:

Ant website showing life in The Philipines during the 1930s should work. A lot depended upon life in the city or life in the countryside. Think Spain, lots of stuco, mostly one and two story buildings in the city and towns, and yes in the countryside mpostly wood or even the ole thatch hut.
Here are some sites that should help.
